Trends - Spring/Summer 2012

Hi,

So we all know about how trend changes, blah blah blah, but we don't exactly know what the trends are, besides what's sold in the shops.

I've researched and, with the help of Glamour Magazine's photographs and Delete or Keep feature, here's what I've got...

- Maxi's and Mini's: All the range, but will you go cleavage & elegantly long or pins & tiny? Remember, it's one or the other.

- Ankle Socks: White ankle socks, a miniskirt and skyscrapers for shoes - there's no bottom-half outfit cuter! As seen here at the Mulberry Spring/Summer 2012, team them with neutral colours and VOILA!

- Overstated Baroque:  See, Stardoll IS fashion forward! They released overstated baroque items in Voile and their real-life counterparts are pretty good too. Lots of complex stitching patterns build together to make lavishly structured, elegant outfits with a touch of bling. Wear high heels - high high heels - and a metallic brocade mini if you're stuck getting the aristocratic-type clothes but want a baroque feel.

- BIG HATS!!!: Celebrities are often snapped wearing huge hats; cowboy hats 'n' trilby's. The oversized rim of the hat shades your face and protects your identity (sort of) from paparazzi! As seen on about 1000 celebs.

- Yellow: Keep yellow in your wardrobe for that summer zest. Whether it's pale pastel or brilliantly luminous, make sure there's some yellow. No yellow = no sun = no summer fun!

- Tailored Two-Piece Sets: Fitted jackets and pencil skirts are really ladylike and express an element of elegancy. They're set to cause a splash!

- Applique Florals: Do you like floral print? Well why not put plain, printed floral out the window for the bin men to take away and get 3-D style in a moment!

- Gold: Turn Egyptian this summer because gold is back in town! Wear striking metallic pieces and brilliantly bright golden shades to put sparkle in your life.

- Sporty Chic: Using varsity-based clothes, big "team" numbers and loosening off the clothes, sporty chic has snaked its way into the fashion centre and even the most sophisticated outfits can have a little bit of sportiness in it. It's especially popular due to the Games of the XXX Olympiad, a.k.a London 2012.
